  • 1,077 attendees
  • 2 concurrent tracks
  • Global reach through hybrid delivery

The National University of Singapore (NUS) hosts its annual Postgraduate by Coursework Fair to connect prospective students with faculty and programs. The goal? Help students explore their options and drive applications for the August 2025 intake. But travel can be a hassle. NUS needed a way to make the event accessible beyond Singapore. So, they hosted the fair at Marina Bay Sands. 1,077 students showed up. But the real reach was online.

NUS used Gevme for their 2023 fair. So they already had a website. The platform was already approved. And they knew the streams worked in China – a crucial market they couldn’t afford to lose. This head start let them focus on other things.

Making it work

NUS designed the tech setup around what students needed — seamless access, whether they attended in person or online. The goal was simple: give each group the right experience without making things complicated.

Step 1: Registration & access

The process was different for each group but worked together seamlessly.

  • On-site attendees registered for an in-person ticket and received a QR code for quick entry at Marina Bay Sands. No long lines, no paperwork — just scan and enter.
  • Online attendees got virtual tickets with unique passwords and stream links. They also received a tech guide to ensure smooth access on event day.

Step 2: Engaging with sessions

The event website served as a dynamic hub by adapting to both audiences.

  • On-site: Attendees used it to check schedules, find sessions, and explore programs.
  • Online: The website streamed two simultaneous presentations, each covering different information session tracks in separate rooms. Viewers could easily jump between them. Gevme’s servers made sure the streams were reliable, even for viewers in China.

The payoff

NUS wasn’t just playing with tech. They wanted real results. Every department showcased its programs to a global audience. This opened up new markets and generated leads both at the physical event and online. This built a strong pipeline for their August 2025 intake.

The results showed:

  • 1,077 total attendees found their way to the content
  • Two concurrent presentation tracks ran without technical issues
  • Every faculty presented their programs to a global audience
  • Streams stayed stable even for viewers in China

So, how did they nail it?

  • Gevme’s streaming kept connections stable across borders.
  • A multi-ticket system adapted to different needs.
  • Targeted emails delivered the right information at the right time.
  • Analytics tracked it all, giving NUS insights into every step of the user journey.

What we learned

Turns out, complicated events don’t need complicated tech. They need systems that understand their specific challenges. For NUS, that meant reliable streaming in key markets, simple access control, and registration that adapted to different student needs.
