Hosting Events: Gateway to Promoting Small Businesses

There are many ways to promote your business. Marketing, as most of you know it, consists of the usual suspects; advertising campaigns (traditional / media), SEO (search engine optimization) for websites, E-mail campaigns… etc, just to name a few. In this article today, we are going to talk about another form of marketing. You guessed it…

Hosting Events

What? Hosting events for my startup you say? Yep. If big organizations could reap the benefits of hosting events, albeit large ones, so can you.

Do not automatically assume that because you own a small business, the events you will be hosting are small and thus have small / little results. It does not scale that way. In fact, it might actually play towards your favor. Allow me to explain why small can be a good thing and what benefits you can get by hosting your own events.

Exclusivity

V.I.P

The select few, private, important, chic, à la mode. These are the few synonyms that come into mind whenever you hear the word “Exclusive!”. Ok, maybe not so much on the last one. The point here is that smaller groups tend to receive higher attention as compared to larger ones. A very personal, intimate, sort of experience. Imagine meeting a friend compared to attending a high-school reunion; you get the idea.

There are so many small businesses out there who are using their scale to their advantage. They know that because they are small, they can easily connect with people directly. Attendees can tell if their presence is being appreciated. Connecting with them directly face to face, helps to foster positive relationships and most importantly, trust, towards your company.

Presence

Floor signage

Hosting an event enables you to put your brand out there. It allows your business to be made known into the public, to gain exposure. This is also a great way to receive feedback. By listening and improving your company / product, it indirectly tells your attendees (and future ones) that you care, that your company is here for the long-haul.

Also, the better you are at hosting, the more people you will impress.

Opportunities

 Opportunities

And I’m not referring to getting leads, but collaborators! Associate yourselves with other small businesses. Learn from each other, help one another. Tearing a single piece of paper is easy, but not quite so; in the collective pages of a book. Organize an event to collaborate, or to learn, or both.

Take a look here. I just randomly searched Google and there ARE people already doing it.

Are you interested in expanding your network and at the same time setting your brand name into the field? If so, then I guess it is time to look at events as a tool to aid in promoting your business.

But before we say adieu, I’d like to encourage all of you (especially our new readers who are still discovering) to look into the subject further and I wish all of you a GREAT SUCCESS to all your future events.

If you have any experiences to share, drop us a comment down by the comment section below.

With that, thank you for your time, and i bid all of you folks farewell. 🙂
