GEVME Powers the 13th World Islamic Economic Forum

It was an honour and a pleasure that one the most prominent business event in Malaysia, the 13th World Islamic Economic Forum, chose Gevme as its technology provider. Gevme was given the opportunity to showcase its online registration feature and display its sleek, onsite check-in experience for the forum.

The forum took place on the 21st of November and ended on the 23rd in Kuching, it brought together business communities and industry leaders to discuss the impact and challenges of life-altering (and sometimes troublesome) ideas as well as technologies with some of the finest minds in the world today. This event was brought about by the WIEF Foundation, an organization that stages impactful projects in the spheres of education, female entrepreneurship, and youth leadership support. The topic of the 13th forum was, “Disruptive Change: Impact and Challenges.” By connecting diverse business networks, the mission of the 13th WIEF was to prove the importance of cooperation between the Muslim and non-Muslim worlds through trade.

For the event, Gevme played an essential role in setting up the online registration system with a ticketing system that provided two types of tickets. On the event day, Gevme Onsite led an excellent and whole new check-in experience for the forum’s guests and participants.

Using Gevme, organizers of the event produced an easy-to-use landing page for online registration, and its mobile-responsive features allowed users to register for the event using their mobile devices. For this event, Gevme created two types of tickets. The first, “Public”, provided access to the forum presentations. The second, “MOCAfest Soundscape,” sold tickets for the concert that took place on November 22 at the forum venue. With just a few clicks of the mouse, upon successful registration, the user received a QR-code via the email he/she used for registration.

To avoid queues and ensure a smooth check-in process, the Gevme team provided all the necessary equipment for the quick registration of participants. The registrants simply had to use their QR codes and have them scanned at the check-in counters. Then, they received their forum badges that had them set up for attendance for all three days at the event.
