Appointment of Torpedo Swim School as the new NUSS Swimming Lessons Provider from 1 July 2022
The swimming contract with our incumbent Swimming Provider, Learn to Swim, will expire on 30 June 2022.
In March 2022, the Society conducted a tender exercise for Swimming Providers affiliated with the Singapore Swimming Association (SSA) to provide Swimming Lessons in NUSS. We received 6 submissions, including the incumbent swimming provider.
The Society has reviewed extensively the programmes submitted by these 6 Swimming Providers. After deliberation, the NUSS Management Committee has endorsed Torpedo Swim School as the Society’s new Swimming Provider with effect from July 2022. We are satisfied that Torpedo Swim School meets our requirements, and is also in a position to introduce new activities to our swimming programme. We are confident that with our new partner, Torpedo Swim School, NUSS will be able to take our swimming programmes further.
*Please note that we are not able to host zoom options as we would prefer to have an upfront discussion regarding this matter. We will send out the presentation slides after the 25th of June, if you are not able to attend.
Fees

Welcome Pack
As part of the launch, Torpedo Swim Team is offering members with the following:
1. Waiver of registration fee ($60)
2. Free swim pack* worth $60 (comprising swim bag, swim cap and noodle float)
Both (1) and (2) are limited to the first 3 months only.
3. Free assessment for the swimmers on the 2nd and 3rd of July 2022 (Saturday and Sunday,
at usual swimming lessons time).
Schedule of Classes
There shall be no changes to the current schedule. Your child / children will remain at the same time slot unless he / she is assessed to be of a different level in the assessment test.
Registration
For your convenience, we will automatically retain your current registration in the new swimming classes. Please email Hafiz at hafiz@nuss.org.sg if you have any concerns.
Briefing Session
We would like to invite you to a Briefing Session. This will be hosted by NUSS, along with Torpedo’s head coach in attendance on:

Room: Evans Room (2nd level, Kent Ridge Guild House)
OR
Date: 25th June 2022, Saturday
Time: 4.30pm - 5.30pm
Room: Activity Room (Near Swimming Pool)
Light refreshments will be provided.
During this session, Torpedo Swim Team will share the transition plans, introduce their lessons plan and curriculum and share how parents and children may use their Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system to monitor their students’ progress.

We thank you for your continued support especially over the last 2 years of disruptions arising from safe management measures due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We look forward to your continued participation in our new swimming programme.
At the same time, we thank Learn to Swim and its head coach Desmond Yee for coaching our children all these years. We have no doubts that Desmond and his coaches have given the precious life skill of swimming to the children and have formed a bond with children / parents through the years. Rest assured that the NUSS Secretariat, together with Torpedo Swim School, will actively be involved to ensure a seamless transition for both the children and their parents.
