Vibrant Gujarat Summit 2015 (VG2015) – Singapore Country Seminar
Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and current Chief Minister Anandiben Patel, Gujarat has grown to be a global business hub. The state has a strong economy with the State Domestic Product rising at a rate of 10.1% since 2005 to 2013, more than the national average. Gujarat has also risen to be the second most preferred investment destination in India, signifying increased investor confidence in the state.
Gujarat is not only the petro-capital of India, but is also a leader in key industry sectors such as food processing, pharmaceuticals, and automotive sectors. As such, Gujarat is considered an important state for Singapore companies to engage, particularly in the areas of urban solutions, energy and manufacturing. Given the importance of Gujarat to Singapore companies with interest in India, Singapore is a Country Partner for Vibrant Gujarat 2015, the state’s flagship investor’s summit. The event is also timely as India and Singapore will commemorate 50 years of diplomatic relations in 2015.
International Enterprise (IE) Singapore, with the support of the Singapore Business Federation (SBF) is organising a Singapore Country Seminar as part of VG2015. Singapore companies will share their capabilities that can add value to Gujarat and India, and also how they can partner Indian companies to address opportunities both in India and ASEAN.
