Globally, governments and other education agencies are struggling to reform their school systems to transform them into 21 Century innovative learning environments. This involves a changes in mindsets as well as the infrastructure supporting the systems that it is operating in. Based on work done for the OECD, the speaker will address these issues in the context of Singapore and Asia. He will also share the strategies and new methods that can help bring about these changes.

Clive Dimmock is Professor of Professional learning and Leadership at the Robert Owen Centre, University of Glasgow. He is also Professor Emeritus at the University of Leicester and Senior Research Fellow at the Asia-Pacific Research Centre, Hong Kong Institute of Education. Previously, he has worked at the University of Western Australia and Chinese University of Hong Kong. He has thus been an academic and researcher in three continents – the UK, Australia and Asia. His books and many journal articles reflect his abiding interests of leadership and schooling in cross-cultural comparative contexts, leadership and school re-design and improvement, the disconnections between research, theory and practice, and latterly a concern for quality and equity in schooling. He has worked with governments such as Singapore, Hong Kong, Australian states, Brunei, and Cyprus, and keynoted in many countries, including China. |
