Tinker Fest is a bi-annual event organised by Science Centre Singapore. We connect children, parents, educators and makers in a week-long celebration of the joy of learning through play, exploration and experimentation. 

This theme “Flow” explores on the various science concepts related to flow and fluidity; a tribute to the adaptability of humanity in the midst of this global pandemic. 

From gravity to fluid dynamics to melting points; join us in various show-the-science sessions and hands-on activities around Science Centre Singapore! Adhering to social-distancing rules of course.

"Build Your Own Sail" Workshop

In this ageless animation technique workshop, learn to create your own stop motion animation. From storyboarding to directing your very own “flow” themed short animation, unleash your inner filmmaker.

"Melted Crayon Flow Art" Workshop

Time: 10.30am - 12.00pm (1.5 hours)

Crayons typically melt at 52°C, that’s the easy part. Next comes the challenging part to control the melted crayon flow to create your very own masterpiece.

"Stained Glass Cookies" Workshop
Date: 6 Dec 2020, Sunday
Time: 2.30pm - 4.00pm (1.5 hours)
Venue: Kitchen Lab @ Science Centre
Recommended Age: 7 years old and above

In this edible and heavenly vanilla infused baking workshop, you will be tinkering on the chemistry of baking and science of sugar crystals. Get mesmerised by the kaleidoscope effects of melted sugar!

 
Workshop Terms & Conditions 
1) Registration: 
  • Confirmation is on a first-come-first-serve basis. If the workshop is full, Science Centre   reserves the right to accept or deny additional sign-ups via e-mail enquiry. 
  • Discounted admissions (if any) are subjected to the attendees holding the relevant identification. If identification is not produced upon request, participants will be required to pay the full admission cost. 
  • There is a minimum number of participants for the workshop to be conducted. Should there be less than the minimum number of participants, Science Centre reserves the right to cancel/postpone the workshop. In the event of a cancellation, full refund (excluding service fee) will be given. 
  • For workshops with an outdoor component, there will be no refund in the event of unforeseen weather conditions.  
2) Cancellation or no-shows: 
  • There will be strictly no refunds given for participant's cancellation, no-shows or wrong selection during registration. 
  • In the event that participants are unable to come for the programme, we would appreciate if the participant could inform Science Centre at least 3 working days in advance to avoid wastage in materials. 
3) Photographs and Other Media: Photographs or video recordings may be taken throughout the course of the workshop. By attending the workshop, you consent to having photographs of you taken which may be used by the Science Centre for publicity purposes. 
 
4) Indemnity: You hereby waive, release, covenant not to sue and forever discharge the Science Centre and all other persons associated with the event / workshop, for all liabilities, claims, actions, or damages that you may have against them arising out of or in any way connected with your registration and/or participation in the event, including without limitation any liabilities, claims, actions, or damages caused by negligence of the above parties (including any negligent rescue attempt), the action or inaction of any of the above parties, or otherwise.
