The three arrows of Japanese Prime Minister Abe’s economic policy “Abenomics” – bold monetary policy, active fiscal policy, and a new growth strategy – have attracted much attention all over the world. For Abenomics to be successful, implementation of its third arrow: growth strategy to encourage private investment, is of critical importance.
At this seminar, one of the key architects of Abenomics, Yasutoshi Nishimura, Senior Vice-Minister for Economic and Fiscal Policy at the Cabinet Office, will present an insider view of this growth strategy, including its bold regulatory reforms, to the important economic and business partners of the Japanese economy in Singapore. He will also speak about future policies on other issues such as tax reform. This will be followed by a panel discussion by political, economic and business leaders from both Japan and Singapore to discuss the impact of Abenomics on the global economy, as well as a Q&A session.
We hope this seminar will be a good opportunity for economic and business leaders in Singapore and beyond to reach a deeper understanding of how Abenomics will help Japan to break free from two decades of deflation to return to the path of real and sustainable economic growth.
