Thailand is building its defence industrial base from the ground up, not waiting for it to arrive via import.​

Thailand's defence and security transformation is happening right now, in simulation labs, rocket test facilities, UAV designworkshops and cybersecurity training programmes. A skilled workforce, indigenous technology and industrialpartnerships will all play a part in Thailand's ambition to become a sovereign defence capability nation, not a buyer ofother countries' systems.​

Defence is one of Thailand's 11 New S-Curve industries. That makes it an economic agenda as well as a security one.​

The same institutions developing robotic combat vehicles, autonomous UAVs, military simulation platforms and spacelaunch capability are simultaneously training the engineers, technologists and cyber defenders that Thailand's defenceecosystem will depend on for the next two decades.​​

The country's defence ecosystem will need partners, platforms and programmes to meet these ambitions, leading GovInsider and the Defence Technology Institute, under the Thai Ministry of Defence, to co-host this event.​

The Thailand Defence Innovation Dialogue convenes senior officials and technology partners to examine what it willactually take to make Thailand a builder, not just a buyer, of the systems that define modern defence capability.​
