He was appointed the US bureau chief in November 2013 after nine years working in various desks in The Straits Times. He had spent the previous six years at the political desk. As political correspondent and subsequently assistant political editor, he covered general elections in Singapore and Malaysia, and wrote features on topics like terrorism, technology, immigration and diplomacy. He is part of the team that set up the politics and current affairs website Singapolitics.sg. He was named the Singapore Press Holdings EMND Young Journalist of the Year in 2005.  Jeremy has a bachelor's in computer engineering from the University of New South Wales in Sydney and a master's in Public Administration from the Harvard Kennedy School. He is now the Straits Times mobile editor.
