Each year SNOW (Say No to the Oppression of Women) brings together socially engaged business executives, entrepreneurs and philanthropists for an unforgettable evening of glamour, gastronomy and goodwill, in support of women and girls’ empowerment in Singapore and the region. It’s a fantastic opportunity to mix among inspirational people from different walks of life across Singapore and Asia, while meeting like-minded professionals. The SNOW Gala has raised over $2 million to date to support the critical work of Singapore Committee for UN Women in stopping oppression and violence towards women at home and abroad. In 2014, the gala raised more than $400,000. Singapore Committee for UN Women hopes to surpass this achievement in 2015. Trina Liang-Lin, President of Singapore Committee for UN Women said: “Violence against women is an issue that affects millions of people world-wide and we are extremely thankful that SNOW attendees and sponsors continue to support the work of the Singapore Committee for UN Women. The help of generous donors allows us to tackle oppression and empower women and girls across the region.

HELP US CREATE A SAFER WORLD FOR WOMEN & GIRLS

In light of the increase in reports of violence against women around the world, the Singapore Committee for UN Women (formerly UNIFEM) feels the urgent need to spread the message about the issue once again. We invite you to  support our work to eliminate violence against women.

SNOW provides 70% of our operational costs each year. Proceeds from SNOW have been integral in helping us run a wide range of programmes, which address violence against women, promote economic empowerment, and provide leadership training.

Celebration in The Secret Garden invites guests to celebrate our work in Singapore and the region while enjoying a light and fun evening inspired by Frances Burnett's classic story. Formerly known as UNIFEM, Singapore Committee for UN Women was formed by a small group of passionate individuals who believed “that human rights are women’s rights and women’s rights are human rights”. Since then, we have grown as a leading local and regional charity for the advancement and the empowerment of women and girls. For this significant year of celebrations for Singapore Committee for UN Women, expect an exceptional scale of glamour, gastronomy and goodwill.
