1. What is the SMINGLES Cruise about?
The SMINGLES Cruise is a specially curated event to bring together singles and allow them to interact with like-minded individuals over fun-filled activities and enriching workshops. This event is open to single Singaporeans or Singapore Permanent Residents, aged 20 – 35 years.
2. I am single and would like to bring a married friend along to accompany me. Can he/she join the cruise?
The event is curated specifically for singles aged 20-35 years old. You can bring a single friend who meets the requirements to accompany you instead.
3. What is included in the Smingles Cruise package?
The Smingles Cruise package includes a 3D2N cruise from Singapore to Bintan on board Dream Cruises Genting Dream with twin sharing room
accommodation. It also includes;
i. onboard WiFi services for 3 days
ii. onboard beverage package (i.e. alcohol and soft drinks) for at the Welcome Event, KTV Night, and The Great Gatsby Party
iii. onboard breakfast, lunch and dinner.
4. What kind of activities can I look forward to during the 3D2N Smingles Cruise?
There will be many fun-filled activities, ranging from a murder-mystery game, The Great Gatsby Party, activities like Cocktail Fun, Treasure Hunt, Come Meet Cupid, and The Great Games. These exciting activities will give you a chance to chill and explore the ship with newfound friends.
5. What can I do when we dock in Bintan?
Join your newfound friends and unwind and explore Bintan at your own free time.
About Registration and Payment
6. Who can join in the Smingles Cruise?
All single Singaporeans or Singapore Permanent Residents aged 20-35 years old are welcomed to join!
7. I am currently in the process of a separation/divorce/ or I am divorced/widowed. Can I still join the cruise?
This event is open to all singles (i.e. legally not married). If you are a divorcee/widow/widower, you will be required to provide proof of your marital status
(e.g. Decree Nisi Absolute or Certificate of Making Interim Judgement Final). We will keep these documents in strict confidence.
If you are undergoing divorce proceedings or are separated from your spouse, you will not be eligible. Kindly email the relevant documents to email@example.com if you are interested in registering for the event. If for any reason a registrant’s claims are false or requirements of the event are not met, you will be refunded the full cost of $295.
8. I am interested to join the cruise, but I will be 36 years old in 2020. Can I still join the Smingles Cruise?
This Smingles Cruise is specially catered for those aged 20-35 years old. Alternatively, you may wish to check out other similar activities, including short weekend getaways and enriching workshops, as part of Spark Connections 2020. Visit www.sdn.sg/sparkconnections for more details.
9. How will I know if my registration has been successful? I have successfully registered and made payment but I have not received any confirmation for my registration.
Upon successful registration and payment you will receive an acknowledgement email and receipt. If you do not receive one, please email a screenshot of the successful payment page to firstname.lastname@example.org and we will reply you within 3 working days.
As for confirmation of registration, please note that registration is subject to validation by the event organiser. You will receive a confirmation email about 5 working days after payment, if your registration is successfully validated.
10. Do I need to get my own travel insurance?
Yes, we strongly advise you to purchase a personal travel insurance.
11. What is the cancellation policy?
If you request for cancellation before confirmation of your registration, (i.e. you have not received any confirmation of your registration), we will provide a full refund of $295.
If you have already received confirmation of your registration & payment, 100% cancellation charge applies.
If you cancel your registration before your confirmation, there is a 100% refund.

12. Can I transfer my cruise package to another person, if I am not able to attend due to unforeseen circumstances?
Transferring of Cruise package to another person is not allowed. We highly recommend purchasing personal travel insurance that covers trip cancellation to protect yourself.
About Cabin Arrangements
13. I am going with my friend who is the same gender as me. Can we be placed in one twin sharing cabin together?
Yes you can, provided you register together with your friend. At registration, please select booking for 2 passengers and fill in the details of both passengers. This is to indicate that you are travelling with a friend of the same gender and allow us to place both of you in the same cabin.
If you did not register with a friend, we will assign a cabin roommate of the same gender for you.
14. Can I share the same cabin with my friend/ sibling of the opposite gender?
This is not permissible as cabin roommates must be of the same gender.
15. I have registered alone and you have assigned me a roommate, but now I have found a friend of the same gender who is willing to share a cabin with me. Can I request for a change of roommates?
Yes, we can facilitate the change in room arrangements, as long as it is done 7 days (i.e. 21 February 2020) before the cruise sail date.
16. Can I request for a change of roommate or cabin after checking in on 28 February 2020?
All passenger details and cabin arrangements must be confirmed and submitted to
Dream Cruises 7 days prior to the cruise sail date. We also understand that the
cruise ship would be sailing at full capacity, hence it may be challenging to
accommodate last-minute changes to cabin arrangements.
However, if you are facing a pressing issue regarding your roommate, cabin or the
cruise event, please approach the event organisers for assistance.
17. Can I top up to upgrade my cabin?
All rooms booked for the Smingles Cruise are the interior cabins and upgrade of cabins is not permissible.
About Cruise-related Information
18. What important documents do I need to bring for the cruise?
Please bring along your passport (that is valid for at least 6 months), NRIC and a
print-out of your confirmation email.
19. How do I indicate my special dietary requirements? Are the meals on board halal?
Meals onboard are not HALAL. The cruise ship does not have a Halal Certified Kitchen onboard. There will be indication for vegetarian, no pork/no lard and gluten free diets on menus and food tent cards. If you have any special dietary requirements, you may email us at firstname.lastname@example.org, as well as inform the banquet staff onboard the cruise ship at the designated dining halls.
20. Can I drink alcohol and smoke on board the cruise?
There are designated smoking areas on board the ship. Apart from the Welcome Session, KTV Night, The Great Gatsby Party, Cocktail Fun activity, alcohol consumption during lunch or dinner would be at your own expense. Please note that all items on board the cruise ship are quoted in SGD.
21. What should I pack for this cruise?
You should pack some comfortable clothing (e.g. t-shirts, shorts) and footwear (e.g. sports shoes, sneakers, covered flats) suitable as some of our planned activities for the Smingles Cruise would require some walking. Please also pack an outfit for The Great Gatsby Party. If you are planning to use the sports facilities during your free time, do pack in your sportswear or swimwear.
22. What is the currency used onboard?
Currency used onboard the ship is SGD.
23. How do I pay for purchases onboard / settle my bills?
The cruise operates in a cashless environment. All payments are transacted through the use of your cabin key card. Bill settlements can be done via the following options:
Over the counter at the Hotel Reception on Deck 6 (FWD) – slower process as there may be queues. Accepts cash, credit or debit cards.
Recommended: Via the Dream Cruises App which can be downloaded via the Apple App Store or Google Play – provides a live itemised account of your spend and is the quickest option and no Wi-Fi subscription required to settle bills. Accepts credit and debit cards or AliPay.
24. Are there ATM machines on board?
No, there isn’t. Please ensure that you have sufficient cash with you prior to boarding if you are planning to settle your bills in cash. Alternatively, bring along a credit or debit card.
Facilities within the Cabin
Beds and sofa bed with fine bedding, TV, Kettle, Hairdryer, Mini-bar Fridge.
25. Are there safes in the cabins?
Yes, there is a safe in each cabin.
26. Are basic amenities like shampoo, conditioner and soap provided?
Shower gel, shampoo and soap are provided in each cabin. However, we would encourage you to bring your own toiletries. Toothpaste and toothbrush are not provided in the cabin, so remember to pack in your own.
27. Do you provide extension cords and adapters?
No, please bring your own international adaptors if required. Extension cords are not permitted to be brought on board as they are a fire hazard and will be confiscated by port authorities at the security checkpoint.
28. What is the adapter used onboard the cruise?
Each stateroom will have 2 Chinese 3-pin sockets and remaining will be HKG sockets (UK). All staterooms have USB sockets on each side of the bed.
29. Is there a hair dryer in the cabin?
Yes, there is a hair dryer in each cabin.
30. Is there an iron and ironing board in each cabin?
No, but there is a chargeable laundry service onboard.
31. What are the prohibited items on the ship?
Flammable liquids, weapons / sharp objects, illicit substances, explosive and dangerous chemicals/ substances, coffee maker, hot plates, candles/ incense, iron, extension cord, multi-plug, rice cooker, slow cooker, kettles, air-purifiers, baby sterilizers.
Food Items must be pre-packaged and unopened snacks i.e.) non-potentially hazardous food; homemade items or pre-cooked foods will not be permitted onboard. We are unable to provide food preparation, refrigeration or storage for personal food or beverage items. Limitations on permitted food items are directly related to concerns for food safety and illness prevention.
Alcohol is also strictly prohibited to be brought on board.
32. Can I check in online?
As this event is part of a group booking, online check-in will not be made available. However, the cruise line offers self-check-in facilities at the port, which are quick and easy to use. Simply follow the ground staff’s directions.
33. When can I receive my cruise itinerary?
Guests will receive their cruise itinerary and tickets 1 week before the sailing date.
34. What time can I check in on 28 February 2020?
Check in opens at 4pm and closes at 7pm at Marina Bay Cruise Center.
35. What time must I check out on 1 March?
While disembarkation begins at 10am, there will be designated disembarkation time for each tier of cabins and the cruise ship will notify passengers on their designated time for disembarkation through cruise announcements All guests however, must disembark the ship by 12:00pm.
Should you wish to have your bags handled by porters, you will have to have your bags ready for collection and placed outside your cabin with the necessary bag tags on Saturday(29 February) night.
If you do not wish to have your bags handled by the porter, you can disembark the cruise ship according to your designated disembarkation time, after the Port Authority has cleared all checks.
36. What documents would I need to check-in and board the cruise ship?
You will require your passport with a minimum 6-month validity period. For Permanent Residents, please also ensure you bring along your ID in addition to your passport.
37. What is the check-in process?
a) If you are checking in your luggage, drop it off at the baggage check in counter located at the vehicle drop off point at Level 2, Departures, MBCCS.
b) Please ensure that your travel documents are on person and not checked in.
c) Proceed to clear security checks
d) Proceed to check-in via the self-check-in kiosks or over the counter
e) Clear immigration
f) Get On-board
38. Does the name on my registration need to match the name on my passport?
Yes, the name on your registration must be as per the full name stated in your passport or other official proof of nationality. If there is a change to your name after registration, please inform us of the change and bring along the relevant supporting documents for verification. Otherwise, you may not be allowed to board the cruise ship.
39. How many bags can I bring onboard?
For your comfort, guests are advised to travel light. Each person is allowed to bring along up to two pieces of personal luggage onboard.
However, open bags, plastic bags and any fragile items are not encouraged to be checked in. All important medication or documents must not be placed in your checked in luggage as it might take some time for your luggage to be delivered to your Stateroom.
40. When will I receive my luggage which I have checked in?
Checked luggage will be placed outside each passenger’s cabin on Friday night. Please allow for some time for your luggage to be delivered to you. We would highly recommend that you hand carry them should you require your luggage urgently.
41. Can I go to my cabin upon check in?
Once boarding commences, and you get on board, you will be able to proceed to your cabin immediately.
42. In case of any emergency onboard, who can I contact?
If it is regarding the ship facilities, you may contact the ship concierge. If it is regarding the Smingles cruise activities, you may contact the event manager via the mobile app. On the Smingles Cruise mobile app, please select the “Messages” function, then select the “Compose” button on top right hand corner of screen, type your message and click “Send”. We will reply you on the same message thread.
