| Rajasthan’s capital, Jaipur, together with Agra (Taj Mahal) and Delhi, form the renowned Golden Triangle tourist circuit in Northern India. In 2014, Rajasthan was nominated as the best destination for families at the Lonely Planet Magazine India Travel Awards. That same year, close to 33 million domestic tourists and 1.5 million foreigners visited the state. With its rich cultural and natural heritage, tourism is a major focus sector of the State Government, presenting opportunities in the development of tourism infrastructure and specialised tourism products such as MICE, night tourism, and eco-tourism. Singapore is proud to be a partner country for Resurgent Rajasthan Partnership Summit 2015 (RR2015), the state’s flagship investor’s summit. The event is timely as India and Singapore commemorate 50 years of diplomatic relations in 2015. This year, Singapore and Rajasthan have also embarked on a collaboration to develop the Centre of Excellence for Tourism Training in Udaipur, aiming to train 480 students in the tourism and hospitality sector annually. International Enterprise (IE) Singapore is organising a Singapore – Rajasthan Roundtable on Tourism Infrastructure Opportunities as part of RR2015. With experience in creating world-class tourism offerings and experiences in Singapore, Singapore companies will share insights and initiatives that could enhance the attractiveness of Rajasthan as a tourist destination and create business opportunities for both India and Singapore businesses.
