Join us on an exciting guided tour of Blue Aqua’s sustainable shrimp farm and hatchery, where you can gain first-hand insights into the farm’s operations. The tour ends with a delectable shrimp tasting session.


Overview of the tour


1. Hatchery Phase
Learn about broodstock selection and management, spawning and larval feeding.

 
2. Breeding Phase
Understand how selective breeding is used and the role of genetics in shrimp breeding.

 
3. Grow-Out Phase
Observe the transition of post-larvae from the hatchery to the nursery tanks; as well as harvesting practices. Participants will also learn about water quality management, feeding and nutrition for efficient shrimp growth.


4. Lab Visit
Discover strategies for disease management and sustainable practices.


Shrimp tasting, menu as appended:

  • BBQ shrimps on skewers
  • Sides: mushrooms and sweet potato
  • 1 drink – 100 plus, Coke or bottled water  

2-way pre-arranged transportation from Kranji MRT Station to the shrimp farm and vice versa are included in the registration fees. 
 

Terms and Conditions:

  1. ​​​​​Registration for the event is on a first-come, first-served basis, and priority is for NUS alumni and students. NUS alumni and students will be required to provide details on your NUS student and alumni ID to enjoy the subsidised price. Registration fees are strictly non-refundable.
  2. Blue Aqua is unable to accommodate any food allergies.
  3. As the programme includes an outdoor walking tour, participants are encouraged to wear comfortable walking shoes and bring along a water bottle, umbrella, insect repellent, and sunblock for extra comfort.
  4. Participants are to indicate accordingly if they would be taking the pre-arranged transportation from Kranji MRT Station and the shrimp farm. Participants may take their own transportation to the shrimp farm, however driving is not recommended due to the lack of parking facilities.
  5. Photography and videography will be carried out for archival and marketing purposes. NUS and its event partners may use some or all of these images/videos in their print publications, digital platforms and marketing channels.
  6. By registering for this event, you hereby consent to NUS collecting, using and/ or disclosing your personal data to third parties (including any third party located outside of Singapore) for the purpose of processing, handling and managing your participation in the event stated herein.
  7. The organiser reserves the right to make changes to the event programme - including but not limited to speakers, schedule, and content - without prior notice.
  8. The organiser reserves the right to cancel or reschedule the event due to unforeseen circumstances beyond the organiser's control. Registered participants will be notified via email or other means of communication provided during registration
  9. By participating in the event, participants agree to indemnify the organiser from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising out of their participation.
