At Starbucks we relentlessly search the world for the best coffees to create a truly one of a kind experience. Every so often, we find something special in the most unlikely places—something we can't wait to bring home and share.

As a company that buys three percent of the world’s coffee sourced from more than 400,000 farmers, Starbucks knows our success — and that of the industry at large — is directly linked to the success of the people who produce our coffee and the land on which it grows.

Since 2015, Starbucks® coffee has been verified as 99 percent ethically sourced. We are the largest coffee retailer to achieve this milestone. And while we are constantly striving for 100 percent, it is that last one percent where some of our most important work happens — bringing on new farmers and cooperatives to help ensure the long-term future of coffee.

On 14 Sept, discover two exceptional coffees: Starbucks Reserve™ Rwanda Hingakawa and Kenya. Experience the evolution of its flavors through the Chemex and French Press brewing process and learn about the story behind each coffee.

Specialty coffee is a profoundly human endeavor. Nowhere is this more evident than in Rwanda, where a group of farmers known as Hingakawa – all of whom are women – are turning out coffees of rare elegance. After bearing witness to one of Rwanda’s darkest episodes, the farmers of Hingakawa found a path forward through coffee – one that embraces reconciliation, revitalization and improved livelihoods. Hingakawa, a mantra that translates to “Let’s grow coffee,” is a product of patience, care and love. In the cup, we find the pinnacle of heroism – and a stirring reminder of the resiliency that fuels the human spirit.

Kenya's high altitudes, ideal climate and strong traditions have helped put premium Kenyan coffees like this one among the world's most treasured. And as it did when we introduced it in 1971, Kenya continues to astound our expert tasters and customers alike with flavors not commonly ascribed to coffee. Bright with a juicy acidity, low wine notes and fruity flavors—ranging from black currant and blackberry to tart grapefruit—that become more pronounced as the coffee cools, Kenya is delicious served over ice and an important ingredient in our iced-coffee blends.

Experience these two exceptional coffees in our 90-minute tasting experience with our resident Coffee Masters. Attendees will also receive a Starbucks goodie bag.
