Research Title: THE USE OF IMMERSIVE TECHNOLOGIC PEDAGOGIES FOR STUDENTS TO EXPERIENCE MUSEUM AND GALLERY EDUCATION IN PRIMARY SCHOOL ART EDUCATION
Abstract: In the 21st-century educational landscape, immersive technology has become integral to childhood settings, prompting art educators to incorporate it into their teaching practices. This confirmation report and presentation address the research progress on ‘The use of immersive technologic pedagogies for students to experience museum and gallery education in primary school art education’. The report and presentation include 1) an introduction highlighting the research background, necessity, and objectives; 2) a literature review exploring the opportunities, accessibility, and challenges of employing immersive technologic pedagogies in primary school art education for students to experience museum and gallery education; and 3) a methodological overview outlining the qualitative digital ethnographic case study approach, accompanied by a research schedule. This study aims to examine the implementation of immersive pedagogies in primary school art education to enhance students' engagement with museum and gallery knowledge, exploring effective strategies and addressing advantages and limitations in school-based immersive learning experiences.
