Activity Description:
The Paw-ddle Kayaking Program is for dogs’ owners who are interested in trying out the sports of kayaking together with their dogs. Suitable for dogs’ owners and no prior experience required.
Applicant must be confidence in handling their dogs. Dogs must not have separation anxiety as there will be times where applicant will need to leave dogs alone for a short while for movement of equipment.
Applicant ability to swim with buoyancy vest is mandatory. The ability to swim vast distance is not essential but basic confidence in and under water without panic is fundamental to safe water sports. Dogs must be able to swim with buoyancy vest.
Duration: 3hrs 30mins session. Session includes safety briefing, equipment preparation and practicing basic skills.
Open for participants ages 13 and above and able to swim with aid of a buoyancy vest.
Optional: $50 (Dog’s PFD, to be paid directly to trainer, not required if owner has their own)
*No prior kayaking experience or certificates required. Participants will undergo kayaking and safety briefing before setting off.
**No refund or reschedule of the program allowed. Distance of program is approx. 5km. All participants will use sit-on-top kayaks.
***A Course Info Kit (Packing List & Direction Guide) will be sent to registered participants at least 4 days before the activity.
