1. Tournament Format & Eligibility

1. Tournament Format

• FIDE Rated Event played under the FIDE Laws of Chess.

• 6-round Swiss System.

2. Team Composition & Eligibility

• Each team shall consist of 4 players listed in a fixed order in the registration form.

• Registration is invalid for teams with fewer than 4 players.

• Average FIDE rating of a team shall not exceed 2200.

• One player shall be designated as Team Captain.

• No rating restrictions are imposed on board order.

• No changes to board order are permitted after submission.

• FIDE Standard Rating will be used if a player does not possess a FIDE Rapid Rating.

2. FIDE Registration Requirements

• A valid FIDE ID is required before tournament registration.

• Players who do not possess a valid FIDE ID may apply through the following link:

• The provided FIDE ID registration link is applicable only to Singapore Citizens 

• Foreign players must apply for a FIDE ID through their respective national chess federations.

• The cost of obtaining a FIDE ID shall be borne by the player.

3. Registration Information

• Registration Fee :S$150.00 per team.  

• Registration is only confirmed after payment is made via PayNow and a confirmation is received from NUSS.

• Registration fees are non-refundable.

• Minimum to Start 20 Teams. Maximum of 30 teams on a first-come, first-served basis.

• Closing Date: 12 August 2026, or earlier once the maximum number of teams has been reached.

4. Venue & Playing Schedule

Venue: NUSS,  Della and Seng Gee, Level 1, 9 Kent Ridge Drive, Singapore 119241.

Playing Schedule:
• Briefing – 9.45am
• Round 1 – 10.00am
• Round 2 – 11.00am
• Round 3 – 12.00pm
• Lunch (Provided) – 1.00pm
• Round 4 – 2.00pm
• Round 5 – 3.00pm
• Round 6 – 4.00pm
• Prize Presentation – 5.15pm

5. Time Control

15 minutes per player with a 10-second increment from Move 1. Default time shall be 15 minutes.

6. Prizes

1st Prize: S$500.
2nd Prize: S$300
3rd Prize : S$200

Prizes will be given in Cash

7. Tournament Administration

• Tie-break system will be announced before Round 1.
• All decisions made by the Chief Arbiter shall be final.

8. General Conditions

• The Organising Committee reserves the right to accept or reject any entry without assigning any reason.
• The Organising Committee reserves the right to amend these Rules and Regulations, or any part thereof, without prior notice.
