ABSTRACT

★ Is it possible for young children to learn well without teachers and without schools?
★ How does one develop an app that is good enough to win a multimillion-dollar prize?
★ How can one be a mother of two young children and a successful Silicon-Valley entrepreneur at the same time?

When it comes to education in developing countries or learning for children with special needs, the markets are saturated with outdated ideas and ineffective tools that fail to interest and engage children. With the rise of education technology (Edtech), many countries have tried to use tablet-based solutions to make education more effective, but most attempts have been to no avail.

After winning the prestigious Global Learning XPRIZE and helping millions of young children in the world to learn independently,  Sooinn Lee will be here in Singapore to share her experience and success story.

MEET THE SPEAKER

Ms Sooinn Lee

Sooinn co-founded Enuma, an EdTech company devoted to designing accessible games and applications that help children learn independently. Previously a game designer in the video game industry, Sooinn led her team to create Kitkit School, which won the $15M Global Learning XPRIZE competition. Before Kitkit School, she created the award-winning Todo Math, which has seen more than 7 million downloads worldwide, and designed the Project Injini series for young children with special needs. In 2017, Sooinn was named an Ashoka Fellow for her ongoing work in bringing accessible, quality education solutions to children around the world.
