Business owners, key decision makers and business development and export managers with an interest in food manufacturing and export for the food sector
With the TPP in place, the food manufacturing industry will stand to gain the following benefits:
- New opportunities in new FTA markets like Canada and Mexico. TPP also provides improved access to existing FTA markets like Japan and the USA
- Enhanced market access via tariff rate quotas that were not available to our food manufacturing industry, which were previously not available under Singapore’s bilateral FTAs.
- In other markets, Singapore food manufacturers are not constrained by tariff rate quotas, giving our manufacturers an added advantage compared to other TPP companies.
- The accumulation provision under the Rules of Origin Chapter allows for regional sourcing of raw materials across all 12 TPP countries, making it easier for Singapore food manufacturers to meet the rules of origin requirement and to enjoy the preferential tariff benefits under the TPP.
