Hi,

This week, the Singapore MICE community gathers for one of its biggest moments of the year. Alongside it, the Summer Release has quietly gone live, Thursday's AI Playbook session is now available to rewatch, and a new episode just got announced for August. Let's start with the main event.

SMF 2026 is here. The theme is Going Beyond

From July 29 to 31, the Singapore MICE Forum returns for its fifteenth year, bringing together over 350 representatives from government agencies, industry associations, MICE companies, and institutes of higher learning across Singapore and the region. Gevme is proud to be a sponsor this year.

This year's theme, Going Beyond, is not just a tagline. The MICE industry is moving through rapid change: geopolitical uncertainty, economic volatility, and AI reshaping how events get planned and run. SMF 2026 is built around that reality. Expect fireside chats with business leaders, plenary discussions on where leadership and value are heading next, curated networking, and business matching designed to turn conversations into real partnerships.

The Forum isn't a single event this year, it's a full programme. Alongside the main business forum, SMF 2026 runs four connected events under one banner:

  • The Singapore MICE Awards Gala Dinner, honouring the individuals and organisations shaping Singapore as a world class MICE destination
  • The Association MICE Symposium, built with the Singapore Business Federation to help association leaders get more out of their events
  • The Singapore MICE Challenge, where students from institutes of higher learning pitch bold ideas for the industry's future
  • Singapore MICE Development, connecting young professionals with career insight and the people hiring for the next generation of MICE talent.

Whichever part of the industry you sit in, there's a room in this programme built for you.

While the Forum was being planned, the platform was quietly learning to watch for itself.

This summer, Gevme shipped new capabilities across Registration and Omnichannel built to help event teams work more efficiently, scale with more confidence, and give organisers tighter control across the entire event journey.

A few highlights:

  • A smarter event management workspace. The redesigned event listing gives organisers a clearer view across their whole portfolio: status, dates, attendee counts, and favourites, all without opening each event individually.
  • Smarter social sharing. Configurable Open Graph settings mean every shared event link, on LinkedIn, Facebook, X, or WhatsApp, now shows the title, description, and image you actually want people to see.
  • Events that archive themselves. Once an event ends, it automatically moves out of your active workspace, so teams stay focused on what's current without manual cleanup.
  • A faster, more trusted checkout. The upgraded hosted checkout experience gives attendees a smoother, more secure path to complete registration, with stronger fraud protection behind the scenes.
  • On the Omnichannel side: Physical Meeting Tracking lets participants confirm whether a scheduled onsite meeting actually happened, attendee schedules are now managed from one central workspace, and check-in based access control adjusts what attendees can see the moment they arrive.

Catch up on Thursday.

If you missed Thursday's Events AI Playbook session, Paula Rowntree mapped a real event workflow, comparing venue RFPs, live in front of the room, and turned it into the structure an AI agent is built on. The recording is now available on the same registration page.

Episode 4 is open for registration: Advanced Agent Development

On Wednesday 19 August, Paula returns for Advanced Agent Development, taking things further into building smarter, multi-step AI workflows using conditional logic, refinement loops, and governance controls. If Episode 3 was about mapping the workflow, this is where you build the agent from it.

One more thing worth your August: proving impact you couldn't measure before

On August 19, Geneviève Leclerc, CEO and Founder of Meet4Impact, joins Gevme for a live session, The Event Is Over. Now What? Turning Impact Evidence into Better Decisions. Using a real case study, she'll show how surveys, videos, and interviews become a finished social, environmental, and knowledge impact report in minutes, not weeks.

Two live sessions are running so you can join whichever time works for your region:

  • Session 1: August 19, 8:00 AM EDT / 1:00 PM GMT / 2:00 PM CEST / 8:00 PM GMT+8 / 10:00 PM AEST
  • Session 2: August 19, 9:30 PM EDT / August 20, 2:30 AM GMT / 3:30 AM CEST / 9:30 AM GMT+8 / 11:00 AM AEST

Built for destination and CVB teams, associations, sustainability leads, and anyone who's had to answer "what did this event actually achieve" without the data to back it up. Bringing a colleague from your DMO, association, or venue team along is welcome too.

Going Beyond isn't just this week's theme in Singapore. It's showing up in the platform, in the sessions we're running, and in how the industry is starting to measure its own value. A busy week. Worth being part of.

We'll be in your inbox every Tuesday.
