Incentives for the Green Technology Industry

The Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA) is the government’s principal agency for promotion of the manufacturing and services sector in Malaysia. MIDA assists companies intending to invest in these sectors and facilitates the implementation of their projects. As green growth will be the game changer in bringing Malaysia towards a sustainable socio-economic development path, the private sector is encouraged to invest in green projects/services and adopt green technology in their business operations. This presentation will cover the facilities and tax incentives with focus on the Renewable Energy/Energy Efficiency sectors for companies planning to invest in green technology for their own use or business purposes.

Mr. Poyan Rajamand, CEO

Poyan Rajamand advised Singapore Government Agencies on Green Financing and has been in continuous discussion with Government Linked organizations: SEAS, A*Star, ASME, BCA. Poyan Rajamand has worked with Singapore Government both at his time as consultant in McKinsey & Co as well as a Director in a Public/Private partnership with URA. Mr. Rajamand has received education in ISO 50001:2011 Energy Management Systems and is is a Singapore Certified Energy Manager (SCEM).

The development of the Green Building Movements has led to creation of companies developing exciting new technologies in this space. With Barghest Building Performance being one of these companies, Mr. Rajamand has deep network and intimate knowledge of established and nascent technologies in the Green Building Space.

Mr. C.V. Kumar, COO

Mr. Kumar has over 25 years of expertise in HVAC, Electrical, Controls andInstrumentation space. He is a Senior Energy Management Professional and accredited QuESS (formerly known as KQP) accredited by National Environment Agency Singapore, as well as a Building Construction Authority Registered Energy Auditor. He helped many buildings achieve Green Mark Platinum, Goldplus and Gold awards.

Mr. Kumar has overseen major HVAC systems implementation (Design and Built), Energy Conservation projects, Thermal Energy Storage systems as well as Testing and Commissioning in Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia and China.

He is a member of American Society of Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineer (ASHRAE) and Senior Member of Association of Energy Engineers (AEE). He is also a BCA certified Green Mark Facility Manager.

Mr. Kumar is a speaker and lecturer in various energy efficiency seminars like ASHRAE, IFMA and Courses for Facility Management Professionals. He was guest lecture for University College London and is currently lecturing Retro commissioning and Optimization module for Facility Management Professional conducted by Building Construction Authority (BCA) Singapore.

Currently he holds the position of COO at Barghest Building Performance Pte Ltd, Singapore.
