Eligibility：
- Only fully vaccinated participants are eligible. Proof of vaccination status is required for participants.
Registration：
- Closing date on 12th of December at 9pm. Late entries will not be accepted.
- Limited to 30 people based on first come first served
- The organiser reserves the right to reject any application without giving any reasons thereof.
Tournament format：
- Single-game Swiss system of 5 rounds.
- Time control：15 min per side, with time increment of 5s per move.
- Players who have exceeded their time allocated are deemed to have lost their match.
- Participants who are late for 5 minutes or more forfeit their match.
- Participants who forfeit or are absent for 2 rounds will be withdrawn from the tournament.
- If a player has a clear board advantage or the game has reached a draw scenario, he or she may call for the arbiter to request a draw. Subject to the arbiter’s consent, the game shall be declared a draw.
- In the event that both players still have time, and a draw scenario is encountered, the arbiter may declare a draw.
- Use of any electronic devices is prohibited during a match, and a player is deemed to have forfeited a match if he or she is found to have interacted with or used an electronic device. In the event that sounds are discovered to be orginating from an electronic device in a player’s possesion, a technical foul will be issued. Accumulation of two technical fouls will result in forfeit of a match.
Tie-breaks will take precedence in the order of
- Sum of opponents’ score
- Direct encounter
- Number of wins
- Number of wins with black
- Number of games with black
Prizes： $100, $80 and $50 supermarket vouchers
The organiser reserves the right to amend the Rules and Regulations without giving prior notification or any reasons thereof.
