AYTF x SGYP: THE RIGHT TO BE HUMAN
A Collaborative Initiative Supported by the National Youth Council (NYC)
This year, Asian Youth Theatre Festival (AYTF) is joining forces with Nanyang Academy Of Fine Arts (University Of The Arts, Singapore) to bring you something special and we’re inviting YOU to be part of it.
About AYTF
Since its inception in 2017, the ASEAN Youth Theatre Festival (AYTF) has become a vital platform for youth artists across ASEAN, empowering them through theatre while fostering cultural exchange, artistic innovation, and community building. To date, AYTF has engaged over 1.5 million youths across Asia through performances, residencies, and workshops.
In 2025, the festival continues with the theme "The Right to be Human" (3–7 December, Laos), creating spaces for young artists to explore the intersection between performing arts and mental health in collaboration with KhaoNiew Puppet Theatre.
AYTF will host a Live Open Stage in Singapore to celebrate SG60, in support of the SG Youth Plan (an NYC initiative), in October 2025. Through this collaboration, we celebrate Buds Theatre’s mission to create theatre for change, highlighting the intersections between youth issues, mental wellness, and the power of puppetry.
