He has been the restaurant critic of The Straits Times for the past 28 years, and for several other publications before that - starting as a food columnist with The Singapore Monitor, a daily tabloid newspaper, in 1984. He has also edited and co-written two dining-out guides, Life!Eats and Life!Eats Malaysia, and sits on the judging panel of several restaurant awards. Follow him on ST.
Loh Lik Peng
Founder, Unlisted Collection
He is the founder of the Unlisted Collection of restaurants, which include fine-dining and casual eateries such as Zen, Burnt Ends, Majestic Restaurant and Meatsmith. He also owns hotels and restaurants in England, Ireland, Australia and France. He is a member of Singapore Tourism Board’s (STB) Tourism Consultative Council, and is the Chairman for Asian Civilisations Museum (ACM), The Peranakan Museum (TPM), Singapore Cruise Centre Pte Ltd (SCCPL), Singapore Hotel and Tourism Education Centre (SHATEC) and School of Arts Singapore (SOTA).
He was awarded the “Tourism Entrepreneur of the Year” award at the Singapore Experience Awards 2011 and, in 2016, World Gourmet Summit’s “Lifetime Achievement Award” which recognises individuals who have made significant contributions in the food and beverage industry.
