What’s your story? Digital storytelling as an expression of professional identity
We live in a world that is often described as abstract, impersonal and uncertain. Change is, and can be, disturbing and disruptive. As a result, it’s becoming increasingly difficult to know what to believe when there are so many competing interpretations of events available.
Against this backdrop, this lecture proposes Digital Storytelling as a contemporary platform for taking control, exploring and understanding our lives as well as making a difference to those around us. Stories are everywhere and we all have stories to tell so long as there is a safe, trusting and exploratory learning environment.
Using a case study from a student and his teacher in the Singaporean context, Dr Towndrow will illustrate and explain the educative value of storytelling as a transformational and life-changing event.
