Henri-Claude de BETTIGNIES holds the AVIVA Chair in Leadership and Responsibility and is Emeritus Professor of Asian Business and Comparative Management at INSEAD. He is also Distinguished Professor of Global Responsible Leadership at the China Europe International Business School (CEIBS), in Shanghai. Between 1988 and 2005, he held a joint appointment at Stanford University. He was educated at the Sorbonne, Catholic University of Paris, and Harvard Business School. He has worked in Africa, at the University of California, in New York (for IBM), and Tokyo.
 
Professor de Bettignies joined INSEAD in 1967 as Assistant Professor and initiated the development of the Organisational Behaviour department. Professor since 1975, he started and developed INSEAD's activities in Japan and the Asia Pacific region which led to the creation of the Euro-Asia Centre (1980), of which he was Director General (1980-1988). Professor de Bettignies is currently developing the Ethics initiative at INSEAD, and is pioneering a new approach (AVIRA), for business leaders from around the world.
 
Henri-Claude teaches MBAs and executives, in the areas of ethics and CSR, HR management and corporate transformation, culture and management. He directs a number of executive programmes in Europe and in Asia; he is the Founder and Director of CEDRE (Centre for the Study of Development and Responsibility) and Chairman of the LVMH Asia Scholarships Jury
