Course Overview
Local exhaust ventilation (LEV) is the system to reduce employee exposure to airborne contaminants such as dust, mist, fume, vapour, and gas in the workplace. A properly designed, maintained, and operated local exhaust ventilation (LEV) system can remove airborne contaminants before people breathe them in and will protect workers' health.

Course Learning Outcome

  • To review the designs of the local exhaust ventilation systems to determine if they are able to remove airborne contaminants without harming the environment
  • To assess the local exhaust ventilation system designs and ensure that they follow the procedures for system design
  • To assess the local exhaust ventilation system designs and/or models and ensure that they comply with system standards and legal requirements
