Biography.
Dr. Laura Tuohilampi, a tenured research fellow in UNSW, Australia with a PhD in mathematics engagement, leverages her 20 years of experience in the Finnish education system to transform mathematics education. Dr. Tuohilampi is an award-winning researcher with over 200 well-regarded lectures delivered worldwide. Her work bridges the gap between theory and practice, translating research into actionable solutions that benefit teachers, students, and educators alike.

Abstract.
In this workshop, Laura will share her experiences in giving access to mathematics using multiple platforms. She’ll explain what minor changes can be done in math classes to make students feel safe and welcomed to the mathematics community. She will also be sharing some principles for teachers to consider when designing their tasks.
30th AME Anniversary Event
The Association of Mathematics Educators (AME) was founded in December 1994, and this year marks the 30th Anniversary for AME. As a professional association for mathematics teachers and educators in Singapore, AME devotes itself to the enhancement of the quality of mathematics education in Singapore through the promotion of activities and build closer working ties among members of the mathematics educators’ fraternity.
In celebrating AME’s 30th Anniversary, the AME and the Department of Mathematics and Mathematics Education (National Institute of Education) will be co-hosting the workshops specially for mathematics teachers.
