Large organisations around the world have been preparing for the future of AI, while some mid-sized organisations are taking baby steps on their “innovation” initiatives. However, many small organisations are completely unaware of how AI can impact their business survival.

Gopal Varutharaju
Regional Director Prowler.IO

Currently, Gopal is the Regional Director for APAC, Prowler.IO. Prowler was founded in Cambridge, UK about 4 years ago where it specialises in Machine Learning to address various industry and functional business challenges.

As part of his impressive working experiences, Gopal was also with SAP Asia in a presales role for strategic clients like BHP, Petronas and Spore IHIS, the COO of the Abeo SEA and the CIO of the Jebsen & Jessen SEA from 2002 to 2011, managing the enterprise applications and IT needs of the group in ASEAN. Gopal has built an illustrious career out of rendering professional IT advisory and management consulting services for multiple industries in various roles over the past 25 years.

Andre Tan
Data Scientist, Gojek

Andre is a data scientist at Gojek, Southeast Asia’s leading on-demand, multi-service tech platform. He tackles a variety of critical business problems within the Marketplace workstream, which balances the competing interests of Gojek’s customers, drivers, and partners. He is also currently working on algorithmic pricing, which helps Gojek make more informed pricing decisions for millions of customers through advanced machine learning techniques. Prior to that, Andre was also the technical lead for the data science recommendation team, where he pioneered a novel food recommendation engine; the patent for which is currently pending.

 

Jeffrey Nah

A former banker turned entrepreneur and investor with 40-years of business experience across ASEAN, China and India, Jeffrey now does consultancy with start-ups on innovation, internationalization, leadership & talent development to drive business growth and expansion. He is a Registered Management Consultant (RMC) with the Institute of Management Consultants Singapore and a Venture Builder and Investor in technology and education start-ups and venture capital funds. Jeff also lectures part-time on entrepreneurship and innovation at NTU, SMU and NUS. He hopes that through his passion, he is able to help Singapore and the next generation transform and grow through technology and education. He is also a Committee Member of the NUSS Business Connect Interest Group.
