World Cities Summit 2016
The biennial World Cities Summit is an exclusive platform for government leaders and industry experts to address liveable and sustainable city challenges, share integrated urban solutions and forge new partnerships. Jointly organised by Singapore’s Centre for Liveable Cities and Urban Redevelopment Authority, key highlights of the Summit include the Lee Kuan Yew World City Prize, and the annual World Cities Summit Mayors Forum.
Manufacturing Solutions Expo (MSE) is an annual one-stop exhibition platform for products and solutions providers to showcase innovative solutions, cost effective technologies and products to improve business productivity and efficiency within and beyond manufacturing industries.
The turnout at MSE 2017 consisted of:
- 4500 attendees from 25 visiting countries
- 120 exhibitors
The event organizers for both events faced the challenge of having to frequently update the following on their event website:
- event programme
- event agenda
- list of partners
- list of sponsors
It was very crucial for attendees to get the latest programme so that they could keep track of the timeslots for keynotes, and as well as who the speakers were. Without constant updates, attendees might have lost interest in the conference altogether, resulting in a larger dropout rate.
As the highlights of featured speakers grew, they had to update both the event agenda and list of speakers. They wanted to increase the event awareness, helping to drive up the number of attendees registered.
To help with their requirements of frequent updates, we introduced the Agenda Module that is available on GEVME Web Builder. The Agenda Module comes with predefined fields for organizers to work with:
- Title of Session
- Start Time
You can add the End Time as well.
- Description of Session
- Tagging of Speakers
List of speakers added into the speaker list will automatically load for easy tagging.

With predefined fields, the event organizers could easily search for relevant sessions and update the session titles, timeslots, and speakers. The tagging of speakers loads a list of speakers added to the CMS through our Speaker Module, which consists of another set of predefined fields such as:
- Speaker Image
- And more.

The presence of modules such as Agenda and Speakers gave the team the ability to edit the content from the backend, without having to edit them individually on the page itself — which could result in human error.
A one step update of content without the need to go through different web pages to update all relevant contents meant saving the team valuable time, and it also kept errors at bay. Updates were implemented efficiently, quickly, and with less errors.
This greatly boosted the confidence the organizers had in us, opening doors to even more events as they found GEVME reliable.
