Have you heard of Industry 4.0? Are you interested to shape the future of JTC's industrial spaces via sustainable urban planning and placemaking solutions? Come take part in the JTC Case Challenge 2022 and your idea might just become reality.

JTC Case Challenge is a competition aimed at bringing together students from multidisciplinary backgrounds to brainstorm fresh ideas that will allow us to strengthen our key role as master planner, developer, and a partner of businesses and enterprises.

There are two main judging categories for this challenge:
1)    University Undergraduates
2)    JC and Polytechnic students

To participate in this year’s challenge, simply form teams of four and appoint one member to register on behalf of the team. Do note each team must contain four members.

Registration closes 2 June 2022, 11:59pm.

Problem Statement:

Placemaking: Building Communities in the Next Generation Industrial Estate

As part of the challenge, you will come up with recommendations on how JTC can design, adapt or transform its spaces to embody the work-live-play-learn ideal.

The case question will be released on 6 June 2022. There will also be a virtual case briefing on 6 June 2022 for teams to gain a better understanding of JTC’s role in
this project. More information will be provided to aid you in formulating your proposals during the briefing.

Key Deliverables:
Using the information provided in the information kit and your own research, your team is required to submit a three-slide proposal by 13 Jun 2022, 11:59pm. Your team may propose more than one initiative for the problem statement. Slides are to be submitted to joinus@jtc.gov.sg. Late submissions will not be entertained.

Teams that qualify for the finals (five teams from each category) will be tasked to give a 10-15 minute presentation and take part in a five-minute Q&A by a panel of judges.
