Hi,

Tomorrow, Wednesday, June 10 at 11:30 a.m. SGT — we're running Episode 2 of the Events AI Playbook series. And if you've been meaning to register, today is the day to do it.
But before you click the link, here's why this one is worth an hour of your time.

The AI gap most event professionals don't talk about

If you've spent any time with AI tools over the past year and chances are you have, there's probably a gap between what you expected and what you actually got. The outputs were fine. Sometimes good. But not transformative. It felt like a faster way to do things you could already do, not a genuinely new capability.
That gap is real. And it's not the AI's fault.
The quality of what AI produces is almost entirely determined by the quality of what you ask it. Give it a vague instruction and it makes reasonable guesses. Give it a clear role, a specific task, a defined format, and the right constraints and the output changes dramatically. The same tool, the same model, a completely different result.
Most people using AI are leaving most of its capability untouched. Not because they're using the wrong tools, but because nobody's shown them how to use the tools they have.
That's what tomorrow is about.

About the session: Prompting for Power

Episode 2 by Paula Rowntree, Founder of The Business Events Network and one of the more rigorous practitioners applying AI to real event workflows. This isn't a session about what AI might do someday. It's a hands-on session built around frameworks you can use the following morning.
Here's what she's covering:
Master prompting techniques — Role-based and layered prompting methods that guide AI to produce outputs that actually fit your context. The difference between prompting AI as a generic assistant and prompting it as a specialist working inside your specific situation.
Structure prompts with purpose — How to design prompts that generate high-quality, event-specific outputs. Not marketing copy in general — sponsor decks, session summaries, post-event reports, bid narratives, attendee comms. The actual documents event teams produce repeatedly.
Refine for better results — How to reduce generic, hedged, slightly-off outputs and consistently get responses that are specific, accurate, and sound like your organisation. The iteration techniques that separate one-and-done prompting from genuinely useful AI collaboration.

Why this series exists

The Events AI Playbook is a five-episode series running through September. It's built for event professionals who want to move past the hype and actually use AI in their day-to-day work.
Episode 1 in April covered AI platforms and how different tools fit different event workflows. Tomorrow's Episode 2 goes deeper on prompting craft. After that: AI agents in July, advanced agent development in August, and AI for Destination Marketing Organisations in September.
Paula joined Episode 1 as a voice from the industry. Tomorrow she's leading the session and if you know her work, you know she doesn't traffic in theory.

One hour. Practical frameworks. Tomorrow.

This is a live session — the recording will be available afterward, but the live Q&A is where the most useful conversations usually happen. Register now and bring your questions.
